About me

I'm professor of IT Security at the University of Paderborn, and head of the Human-centered IT Security group (HITS). I'm interested on usable authentication, behavioral data privacy, data transparency, and broader topics in the field of usable security and privacy.
Prior to Paderborn, I have been a senior researcher at KIT (2019-2021), Humboldt Fellow at the University of Mannheim (2017-2019) and Assistant Professor (2013-2018) at University Carlos III of Madrid (Spain), where I got my PhD in Telematic Engineering. I have also spent some time as visiting postdoctoral researcher at TU Darmstadt and as intern at NEC Laboratories Europe in Heidelberg.
